are often given to Jewish children during the celebration.  The
Hanukkah program offers members eight ways to be
a "shamas"  OR
"Hanukkah helper"
Members can donate money for gifts, give gift cards, refer a a family, go shopping for the gifts or help wrap presents.  The program makes
sure to tailor the gifts for the families who are asked what their children specifically need
or want.

Metro Detroiters have their pick of places to go for a free Thanksgiving meal during the week.

Royal Grill Restaurant located at 9 Mile and Coolidge in Oak Park is serving free turkey and ham dinners
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free meals are open to everyone.

Those who find Dearborn or Taylor to be more convenient, might want to head over to Leon's Family Dining Restaurant.  Free dinners will be available for everyone at the location at 23830 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn and at the restaurant at 8787 Telegraph Road in Taylor. The meals will be available from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Ram's Horn Restaurant at Rochester Road and Hamlin are holding a free Thanksgiving dinner on Monday, November 21st from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Last, but not least, Romulus House Restaurant will offer a free Thanksgiving dinner from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
It is located at 9110 Wayne Road.

MONROE COUNTY

Members of Monroe International Association of Fire Fighters Local 326 will serve Thanksgiving Dinner
from 3 to 6 p.m. tonight at St. Joseph Catholic Church, parish hall.  This tradition of Monroe's first responders serving needy families in the Monroe area goes back many years. Last year more than 800 meals were served during a four-hour time frame, and the committee reports they expect the attendance will increase this year. Santa Claus will make an appearance.
