Emergency food pantry: Based on household income, food to last 3-5 days will be provided, along
with household supplies. FIA is happy to accept frozen and perishable items as space permits. Food Gatherers, the premier organization that conducts food rescue in Washtenaw County, and local donors, provide the food for our pantry. We routinely provide food for 100 or more households each month.
FIA primarily serves people in the Chelsea and Dexter school districts and surrounding areas who have limited financial situations.

TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program):
The TEFAP is a federally funded program that allows us to provide emergency food to our community at
no cost. TEFAP foods are distributed in every Michigan County and typically through community action agencies, food banks, pantries and other hunger relief organizations. As a recipient of TEFAP support,
we distribute this food to our local pantry partners, who then make it available to individuals and families
in need.

Food Pantry:
The main purpose of Samaritan House is to provide emergency food for those in need. A pantry food
order is designed to feed all members of the household three meals a day for 10-14 days. The food is
donated, or purchased with donated funds.
Focus Hope:
Samaritan House is a distribution center for Focus Hope. As such, we deliver Focus Hope food orders
to qualified seniors who live in our service area. Seniors can receive assistance at Samaritan House to determine their eligibility and to apply for Focus Hope food assistance through the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program offers food for individuals over 60 years of age. The program
is designed for Monroe County residents who are in need of food to supplement their basic food purchases.

The Community-Wide Food Bank Program coordinates a network of 15 food pantry locations throughout Monroe County that aims to improve access to nutrition in rural areas. Each household in Monroe County
that is in need picks the location closest to them and goes for food. If going to a food bank please make
sure you have proof of household income, proof of residency, and proof of number of household members with you.

The Emergency Food Box is a one-time emergency offering for low-income Monroe County residents in
need. It is given one time each year to qualified individuals and families.

The Mobile Food Pantry provides food in Monroe County throughout the year. The location changes every month. Please contact MCOP for monthly locations.

The Emergency Food Assistance Program supplies food to income eligible Monroe County residents on a quarterly basis at 12 locations throughout Monroe County. Please contact MCOP for locations and times.

The Lord's Harvest Pantry is a collaborative effort between dozens of churches and organizations working together to feed hungry people whille allowing them to maintain their dignity. Clients can browse through
the aisles of groceries and select the food they would like. The vision of The Lord’s Harvest Pantry is for all residents of Monroe County to have an adequate supply of food to meet basic nutritional and dietary needs
in their household. With dozens of local churches, non-profits and businesses working together to create, operate and support a community-wide client choice pantry. Residents will be treated with compassion, dignity and respect.

Matchan Nutrition Center:
The Matchan Nutrition Center, established in 1984, serves the Pontiac area feeding the working poor,
laid off workers, homeless people, and the unemployable. While their schedule at All Saints’ is not yet established, their past schedule has offered, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, free coffee and donuts from
9 AM until 11:30 AM and a free hot lunch from 11:30 AM until 1 PM. They also provide many other ser- vices such as: Legal Aid Service, Bread Handout, Produce Handout, shopping for larger food needs
at the Pantry, clothing Handout, and Books for Kids. They also have many government and charity ser-
vices they sponsor for free consultation on a scheduled availability.

The UCFS Food Pantry is open to all who need food assistance. The pantry is stocked with food from
a variety of sources, including Gleaners Community Food Bank, Forgotten Harvest, donations from
local retailers, and items from food drives hosted by individuals and community groups. Clients receive
a healthy balance of fresh produce, dairy products, lean meats, whole grains, non-perishables, and cult-
ural staples. Each food box contains a recipe card to assist food pantry clients in making the most of
the food they receive and learning to incorporate new foods that are more affordable and easily acces-

Summer Food Service Program:
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a critical source of food for families in the summer,
replacing the free and reduced price meals children receive during the school year. Food Gatherers
is the largest sponsor of the SFSP in Washtenaw County, providing free summer meals for children
and teens at sites located throughout the community. Since 2019, Food Gatherers also operates a
mobile meal program as part of the SFSP, delivering meals five days a week to areas of our community
where children cannot easily access a SFSP site for summer meals.
Food Gatherers Community Kitchen:
The Food Gatherers Community Kitchen is a direct service program open to anyone in need of a meal.
The Community Kitchen is located in the Robert J. Delonis Center (also home to the Shelter Association
of Washtenaw County) at 312 W. Huron Street in Ann Arbor. The Community Kitchen serves lunch and
dinner Monday through Friday and a mid-afternoon meal on Saturday and Sunday. The Community Kit-
chen focuses on providing delicious and nutritious meals that are high in protein and include fruits and vegetables.

GROCERIES: Pantry Appointments:
Pantry appointments allow you to shop for your own food and personal care items alongside a volunteer.
You may sign up for one pantry appointment per month and expect to leave with 6+ bags of food, including produce, dairy and meat. In order to prioritize the safety of you and our volunteers, we have some guidelines for you to follow while shopping:
- Appointments will be at a scheduled time and spaced out
- No walk ups for pantry shopping. You must have an appointment
- You can make an appointment for next month the day after you attend your last appointment
- If you’re shopping with minor children, they must be kept with you at all times

Additional fresh produce is available at the Hope Clinic Farm Stand, 454 Harriet St. on Monday, Wednesday
& Friday evenings. You must call in advance to reserve a spot and may come once a week. Call 734-484-2989 to sign up for a Farm Stand appointment. Appointments are available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 4-6 PM.

DELIVERY:
If you are unable to pick up groceries due to mobility, transportation, or heath concerns, Hope Clinic offers grocery delivery! You can choose to get your delivery either Wednesday or Friday, and it will come between
1-4pm. Call 734-484-2989 Mon-Thurs from 9 AM - 4 PM to reserve a delivery. You can also send a neighbor or family member to pick up groceries for you during regular distribution hours.
