Brides Against Breast Cancer Charity Wedding Gown Sale

This sale is taken to about 36 cities around the country each year. and brides-to-be get to choose from among 1,500 to 2,000 gowns, all available at bargain-basement prices. Gowns valued at up to $4,000 typically sell for $49 to $599.  Those originally priced at 4,000 to $10,000 sell for $399 to $999.  A pink breast cancer awareness ribbon is fastened to the interior bodice of each gown.  Slips, shoes and veils are also donated and individuals and businesses donate diamond and estate jewelry, which is appraised and sold on tour and online at www.makingmemories.org. 

The money raised is used by the nonprofit Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation to grant wishes
to those women diagnosed with breast cancer (similar to the Make A Wish Foundation for children).

Sweet Dreamzzz is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing at-risk children with the sleep, education and bedtime essentials necessary to achieve a good night's sleep to help classroom learning.
It offers its R.E.M. (Rest. Educate. Motivate) Sleep Program to high-poverty schools throughout metro Detroit.  In 2007, 1,842 children were served, rising to 3,993 in 2008.  The goal for this year is 4,000 children.
